Today we are putting the spotlight on one of our favourite resident experiences, the trail that started it all: our Oxford sci-fi mystery, Guardians of the Timeline.
If you've not faced the challenge of stabilising the rifts in Division 9 yet, here is a taste of the mission waiting for you on the cobbled streets.
The Mission: Secure the Fractures
Your assignment comes directly from Orion, the Head of Chronocore Division 9, a time agency from the future tasked with protecting their flow of time.
A rogue agent known only as Echo is moving through Oxford, leaving a trail of temporal disruptions in his wake. These are active breaches in spacetime. Your team has been drafted to track Echo’s temporal signature across the city, locating these breaches and securing them before the damage becomes permanent.
Orion has told you in no uncertain terms that if these disruptions are left unchecked, they will trigger a cascading collapse of our entire reality. Everything we know, everything we have been, and everything we will become could simply cease to exist.
How the Walking Tour Works
If you have played one of our unique Oxford trails before, you already know the drill, as Guardians of the Timeline is the blueprint that started it all. The entire mission runs through our interactive, in-browser game engine, transforming the historic streets into a giant, city-wide escape room.
As you move between stops, you will get your briefings directly from fully animated characters, backed by professional voice acting that pulls you right into the room with Chronocore.
Instead of just looking at old buildings, the puzzles force you to interact with the city around you, using the physical architecture and local history to crack Echo's data rifts.
And of course, it wouldn’t be Urban Trails without our signature branching storylines. As with all our trails, the choices you make shape your experience. How the story ends is entirely in your hands.
